Jerusalem Schools Network
The Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) and Teachers College, Columbia University (TC) are implementing a professional development program in mathematics, science, English writing, and instructional leadership for schools in Palestine. The program is designed to support the improvement of teaching and learning in the classrooms of twenty public schools in greater Jerusalem. Two schools inside the old city and twelve schools inside the separation wall are administered by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. Six schools (outside the wall) are under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority. The program for these 20 schools is sponsored by HRH Queen Rania and administered under the Madrasati Palestine program in the Queen’s Office.
The work will be undertaken in cooperation with partners in Palestine. The initial partners will be Al Quds University and the Palestinian Ministry of Education, but other partners will be invited to join in the work as it expands.
